Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays are restorations that are fitted to a cavity in a tooth and bonded in place. At SmileBay, we use porcelain inlays and onlays which are made from durable material that will perfectly match the colour of your natural teeth.
For larger cavities, inlays and onlays are stronger and more durable compared to a regular filling. They may also be used to restore a broken tooth, replace an existing large filling or when the damage is not severe enough to require a crown.

This procedure is conservative, so our team will only remove as little tooth structure as possible to restore the tooth. The area is numbed by a local anaesthetic before being removed by a drill.
After the decay has been removed a mould of the tooth is taken and sent to the dental lab. The permanent restoration involves the cleaning of the tooth to prepare for the new inlay or onlay. The inlay or onlay will be placed to ensure a correct fit before it is bonded to the tooth. It is then permanently attached to the tooth and polished for appearance.

Dentures
Dentures are appliances worn to replace lost or missing teeth. A partial denture fills in the spaces created by lost or missing teeth and could be attached to your other natural teeth with metal clasps. A complete or full denture is one which replaces all of the natural teeth on either the upper or lower jaws.
This provides support for your cheeks and is able to prevent premature wrinkles around the lips and corners of the mouth. Without this support, sagging facial muscles can make a person appear older and reduce their ability to eat and speak. ThermoSens dentures, also known as flexible dentures, are suitable for full and partial denture wearers. It is made of Thermo Plastic material, which is monomer and acrylic free as no liquid chemicals are added during the process. This makes it suitable for patients prone to allergic reactions or other sensitivity problems.
ThermoSens dentures are more aesthetically pleasing, comfortable to wear and durable. With various tooth colour options and clear clasps, the denture blends in perfectly, giving a more life-like appearance. The ThermoSens colour holds up to even the harshest liquids and food, ensuring minimal discolouration over time, whether a patient is a heavy coffee or tea drinker, a smoker or enjoys acidic drinks. The thermoplastic base will ensure that, if dropped, the impact is absorbed rather than disbursed, thus avoiding a fracture or separation, making the denture exceptionally strong and virtually unbreakable. It also has a less than 1% volume shrinkage rate. Its rigid body allows a thinner denture; making it lightweight and extremely comfortable.

Our team will take a mould of your natural teeth and gums to make sure that your dentures will fit comfortably once you’re ready to wear them. Moulds can be a little uncomfortable, but it’s better to know for certain that your dentures will fit well in your mouth. You’ll then go through a fitting process. There is a possibility that when your set comes in, a little bit of adjustment is needed.
Our team will help alter it to make it more comfortable for you. You’ll likely need future adjustments as your mouth changes, but dentures can last you quite a long time if you take very good care of them.
